David was one of the first individuals to recognize the intersection of new technology and digitalised assets, and is recognized as the inventor of the concept of secure digital cash.
David has a PhD in Computer Science from UC Berkeley and taught at NYU Graduate School of Business and the University of California, being instrumental in several breakthrough projects in the field of cryptographed digitalised asset exchange. He is the founder of the International Association for Cryptologic Research, the cryptography group at the Centre for Mathematics and Computer Science in Amsterdam, the Voting Systems Institute, and the Perspeitzerctiva Fund. In 1990, David founded Digicash one of the first companies in history to launch digitalised payment services.
