Paralelní Polis

Paralelní Polis is a one-of-a-kind nonprofit organization that brings together art, social sciences, and modern technologies. The ideas of liberty, independence, innovative thinking, and the development of society are the main underlying foundations of the project.

The project intends to remain state-free as it operates entirely without support from the government, and most of the funds come from voluntary contributions of our donors and partly from commercial activities such as running a unique coworking space and the world’s first bitcoin-only cafe.

It was founded by members of a contemporary-art group Ztohoven, and Slovak and Czech hackerspaces. Its main goal is to promote economic, social, and digital freedom. We try to be a vocal voice of liberty in order to shape the public discourse, and ultimately work towards a freer future.

Stacy Herbert is the Director of the National Bitcoin Office of El Salvador. She is co-presenter, along with Max Keiser, of Orange Pill, a weekly bitcoin podcast out of Bitcoin Country, El Salvador. She is one of the first bitcoin content creators to extensively cover bitcoin from early 2011. Her background is in film and television development and production and international feature film sales. Stacy is a co-founder of Heisenberg Capital, an early investor in both bitcoin and in many bitcoin related startups, including Kraken, Bitpay, Shapeshift, Unocoin, Bitpesa, Bitso, Bitfinex, Circle, Uphold, Casa and more. Max Keiser is known as the ‘High Priest’ of Bitcoin and the co-presenter, along with Stacy Herbert, of Orange Pill, a weekly bitcoin podcast out of Bitcoin Country, El Salvador. He is the Senior Bitcoin Advisor to President Nayib Bukele of El Salvador, and will be on the advisory board to the new Digital Securities Commission being established there.
