Charitable Giving in a Digital World

In 2015, 38.7mn people donated USD6.6bn to charities through PayPal and 23% of these were on mobile devices. This year Paypal has incorporated a donate-button directly in their mobile app. Recently the Harvard Business Review’s Franz Paasche opined on the use of fintech to embed „social purpose into everyday activities.“

In Switzerland, we see Swisscom with it’s digital crowd-fund-raising platform and the Swiss Red Cross taking active strides. Fintech, Mobile Tech and even Blockchain are increasingly making a positive impact, on both personal and corporate levels, to acts of charity.

Our friends at Kickstart Accelerator are providing the stage and we are joined by the blockchain-charitable-giving-companyHelperBit to learn about the next generation of digital tools in this space. Each of the three participants will last 10-20minutes to to present their views on the impact and challenges of tech in their organizations’ activities. We will wrap up with a 10minute panel Q&A.
