It’s a great pleasure to invite you all to a very personal meetup: The official presentation of DiamondCoin, and a preview of the DiamondCoin Mobile App. It is the first event of our campaign to promote the “DiamondCoin Platform License“ token that will provide the means to launch DiamondCoin on a global level.

DiamondCoin is the globally first Crypto-Currency backed by Diamonds. As many of you may know, I’ve been working with my team on the DiamondCoin project since early 2015. We have been in stealth mode during this time. Given the progress we made, it is time now for the next step, and I’d like to share this moment with all of you.

During our meetup, we will present the official DiamondCoin Whitepaper, and explain in detail the mechanics of DiamondCoin. In a second part, we will give you a preview of our mobile app, and we will conclude with an open discussion in the plenum.

DiamondCoin Vision:

It is my deep conviction that to realize the full potential of Ethereum, we need a stable transaction currency on top of it; one that is not mainly used for speculation purposes by those who can afford to speculate, but who provides stability and a means to find a refuge from political pressure or inflation to the great many poor in the world.

Thus we create DiamondCoin, and build the DiamondCoin Platform. Our goal is that everyone on Earth with a smartphone and internet connection can use our mobile app to:

• buy and sell DiamondCoins
• pay with DiamondCoins
• save up in DiamondCoins, and then redeem them for diamonds (given sufficient DiamondCoin balance)

Join us at the meetup to learn more about how DiamondCoin makes diamonds fungible, how we implement checks and balances with the best partners in the diamond industry, and what role the Ethereum blockchain plays in the setup.

Speakers:

Dr. Mathias Bucher

Prior to Founding Diamond Digital GmbH, Mathias built the systematic trading division for a large Swiss investor, and then traded with a partner their own CTA hedge fund for over 5 years. In 2014, he understood the revolutionary potential of Ethereum, and invented Diamond Coin. He is recognized as a leading Blockchain expert in Switzerland, frequently speaking at conferences, and lecturing Blockchain technology at the Lucerne University of Applied Science. In 2016, he successfully lead the OTC Swiss Blockchain consortium. Since its creation in 2017, Mathias is a member of the counsil/board of Gavin Wood’s Web3Foundation. Mathias holds a PhD in Finance from the University of Zurich, and a MSc in Economics from the HEC Lausanne.

Pavlo Protopapa

Pavlo co-founded Diamond Digital GmbH. He is the Chairman & CEO of SpaceCode.
Prior to founding SpaceCode, Pavlo was the Chief Financial Officer of one the world’s largest diamond groups (1998-2012), and represented it on the board of Sotheby’s Diamonds Holdings SA.

SpaceCode is the technology arm behind the GIA’s Mine to Market program – providing global traceability of diamonds.

Pavlo is an angel investor of Socure Inc, the New York based industry leader in real-time online identity verification solutions, and NASDAQ and AIM listed Midatech Pharma PLC, a global leader in the design, synthesis and manufacture of nanomedicines.

Pavlo studied Economics, Accounting and Commercial Law at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, and completed his articles at KPMG in 1993.
